A Guide for Session Types

IMPACT offers unique types of sessions to appeal to every interest and need. Whether you're looking for big-picture overviews, actionable ideas on specific topics, or want to discuss what you are learning with peers, we have sessions designed to deliver the kind of content you want, the way you want it.

Education Sessions

Sessions on a variety of specific topics provide you with new insights and actionable ideas that you can implement right away. (75 minutes)

Extended Education Sessions

For those who wish to do a deep-dive on a select topic, these workshop-style and highly interactive sessions include a speaker presentation followed by a peer discussion among participants and session (120 minutes)

General Sessions

One of the highlights of IMPACT, keynote sessions deliver the wow factor—the big-picture views and rich commentary on major issues of our time from leading, well-known speakers. You won't want to miss these events. (60 minutes)

Pre-Conference Session

Liz Ann Sonders and Greg Valliere kick off the conference with an engaging and thought-provoking keynote-like presentation on hot topics that are relevant to the industry. A welcome reception follows. (60 minutes)

Showcase Stage Sessions

Learn how to strengthen client relationships, manage profitability, increase efficiency, and streamline processes through presentations and demonstrations from experts in technology and asset management. These sessions are held on one of three stages in The Exchange. (30 minutes)

Snapshot Sessions

Gain three unique viewpoints on a current hot topic for advisors and retirement planners. Three different subject-matter experts each deliver diverse, high-level overviews that, together, provide a well-rounded understanding of the topic. (75 minutes)

Spotlight Sessions

Spotlight sessions give you the 10,000 foot view on relevant topics that matter to advisors and retirement planners. This year's spotlight speakers will challenge conventional wisdom and leave you thinking about new ways to stand out and move forward. Conference participants will choose one of three Spotlight sessions offered on Tuesday afternoon. (60 minutes)

Technology Sessions

These fast-paced sessions focus specifically on Schwab technology including eSignature, eAuthorization, mobile applications, rebalancing, going digital, outsourcing, and more. The sessions, designed to provide you the key details and spark conversation, are held in The Exchange, adjacent to Schwab technology experts, Schwab technology platform participants, and the SchwabCenter for detail follow up. (30 minutes)
